Question :
I’ve got a solid business with competitive products but I’m just not generating the sales I need to grow the business. Is there a way I can analyse the sales performance of the business and develop a strategy to improve sales?
Answer: I feel you should look at your customer base and do some research to find out why they are not buying from you as much as you would like.
Through the research determine your customer needs which should include: 1. Service requirements, 2. Product range, 3. Risks and concerns they may have 4. Major benefits required
From this research determine a major benefit that you can offer your customers that is not necessarily price focused. Use this benefit in a call to action campaign that can be a direct mail or an advertising campaign or a combination of both.
You can also map customer purchase behaviour and focus your marketing efforts during the peak times. Once you identify your top 20% of customers devise a sales strategy to cater to their individual needs these could include payment plans, warranty, value added products or services to encourage them to purchase higher quantities of products.
